The statistical outcomes cited below tell just part of the story of hundreds of boys whose lives have been transformed due to the education that was provided, the hope that was restored, and the positive alternatives to which they were carefully guided.

  • RECIDIVISM: The recidivism rate for youth participating in New Roads is 5.1 %* which is far below studies of similar populations. A 2002 Oregon Youth Authority study found that 40% of its youth were re-incarcerated after one year of release.
  • EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENTS: 162 New Roads participants have taken and passed the GED exam representing a 74% passing rate**

* RAND Corporation Study 2007-2008 based on clients up to one-year post release.
