Bradford Bancroft began his career as a working actor in the theatre in New York and eventually came out to California to star in such films as Bachelor Party (playing Tom Hank’s best friend, Brad), Patty Hearst, Dangerously Close and Damned River (the first film to be shot in the newly independent Zimbabwe). His other work included theatre, performance art, television, commercials and documentaries.

Bradford studied music at Yale University. Theatre, Music and Film at California Institute of the Arts and finally his Masters Degree in Psychology at Antioch University (Los Angeles). Bradford’s interest in the therapeutic aspects of theatre games and improvisations led him to a field of drama therapy where he spent 15 years working with the Stop Gap Theatre Company in hospitals, battered women’s shelters, drug and alcohol rehab centers and schools. Bradford is a licensed psychotherapist. He has opened his own practice, Rehearse For Life, and has offices in Pasadena.

Finally, Bradford is a trustee of the Bancroft Family Foundation. He sits on the boards of a few non-profit companies in the Los Angeles community most proudly of which is the New Visions Foundation. Additionally he works with the Unusual Suspects Theatre Company (with kids at risk), the Bridge Program (offering a free education to homeless and working poor people), and the Ojai Foundation (bringing the Native American tradition of Council to schools and programs around Los Angeles).
