Deanne Scott is the founding director of Fostering New Visions, an innovative program which places foster youth in excellent, well-matched independent and public schools and provides ongoing, personalized educational support. Throughout her career, Ms. Scott has developed an extensive network of child-focused organizations, institutions, schools, local government appointees, and community members, all of whom contribute their expertise and resources to the students who benefit from Fostering New Visions.
Ms. Scott has had in-depth experience working with nonprofits focused on improving the lives of at-risk youth. She founded two international nonprofit organizations, Kids in Focus and International Coalition for Children’s Creative Communication, dedicated to strengthening the lives of underprivileged children. She also served as executive director of United Friends of the Children, a nonprofit organization with a primary focus on providing education-related services for foster youth.
Deanne holds master’s degrees in clinical psychology and in philosophy and is currently a Ph.D. candidate completing her dissertation on orphan and adoption issues.
