As a social activist and consummate connector of people, Debra Olson has served as an active member of the Clinton Global Initiative 2006-present, a member of the Business Council of Women for Hillary Clinton during the Presidential Primary 2008, Senior Advisor to the Founder and President of the Earth Restoration Corps., Hanne Strong, 2000-present, and the National Senior Advisor and Fundraising Consultant for the Kucinich for President Campaign in 2003. With access at the top of the political and financial sectors worldwide, Debra uses her talents and passion to advance grassroots and environmental movements and abridge strategic alliances.
Ms. Olson presently is the Director of Business Development for Excelsior Capital, LLC, an innovative commercial finance and merchant banking company. She serves as a consultant for Green Century Solutions, which develops and introduces “cleantech” green building systems, products and technologies to the marketplace. She is also on the board of directors of Youth Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Inc. (YES) and has presented at the last two YES Summits, Nairobi, Kenya 2006, and Baku, Azerbaijan, 2008. As a representative of YES Inc., she presented at two Tallberg Forums in Sweden, 2007 and 2008, speaking on how to educate youth in sustainable livelihoods and create a green job market for the next generation. Being a proud mother of two New Roads High School graduates, Ms. Olson is dedicated to applying her experience and resources to help the New Visions Foundation accomplish its mission.
