Reporting to CEO Paul Cummins, Kim McCleary La France is responsible for managing fundraising, community outreach, marketing, operations, strategic planning, finances and programs. These programs include the Fostering New Visions, New Roads for New Visions and the LENZ initiative.

Prior to joining New Visions Foundation, Ms. McCleary La France was employed at the Los Angeles Times where she served in most of the major operational management roles - for more than 20 years. She was the first woman executive to manage The Times’ extensive printing facilities. Most recently, she held the position of vice president of sales operations, strategy and planning. She is widely known for The Times’ community outreach efforts she lead from 2000 to 2008 as vice president of the paper’s public affairs and planning divisions. She also served as president of the paper’s charitable foundations, The Times Mirror and Los Angeles Times Foundations. She oversaw The Los Angeles Times Family Fund, which supports education and other essentials for disadvantaged youth and the paper’s signature early-literacy program, Reading By Nine.

She has served as on many Los Angeles boards including Chair of the Hollywood Entertainment Education Center and Vice Chair of PUENTE Learning Center. She has served on the executive committees of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation and the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley, and Board of Visitors Pepperdine University Graziadio School, Business Management. She was a member of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles Community Investment Cabinet and Homewalk committee, the Central City Association and LA-5 Rotary.

She is a recipient of The University of Southern California’s “Women of Distinction Award, the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Public Service Award, Bookends award for contributions to education and early literacy, and the San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business Award.”

Ms. McCleary La France received a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management and a bachelor’s of arts degree from Stanford University. She is also a graduate of the Fund for American Studies in Washington, D.C.
