After graduating Stanford University in 1982, Susan Saltlz attended New York University Graduate School of film. After attending NYU she worked for PBS at WNET in New York and in documentaries for approximately seven years.
In 1991 Susan formed her own company (New Light Entertainment), moved to Los Angeles and began producing independent educational films includinga series on African, Afro American and Afro Caribbean folk tales done in partnership with the Pan African studies at California State University, Los Angeles. She also produced an independent film called 'African Story Magic' which won first prize at the Children's Film Festival in Boston in 1993.
In 2001 Susan took a hiatus from film production to pursue her long time interest in spiritual psychology, and obtained her Masters degree in that field from the University of Santa Monica.
Beginning with her work as a board member of the Gary Saltz Foundation, a family foundation begun in honor of her late brother in 1990, Susan has also been dedicated to serving as-risk children and youth throughout Los Angeles and the world for the past 21 years.
